Dahlia – FOTD September 19

Yay, for rain!

We’re certainly enjoying all the flowers before they begin to wilt away. I admit I didn’t really water most of my plants while it was so smokey and hot. A lot of my annuals have withered and really need to be removed. Same goes for my veggies. I already removed one of my zucchini plants. I’m still holding on to some hope that most of my tomatoes will ripen before the cooler weather sets in.

I have learned so much about gardening this year. I can’t wait to plan our garden for next year. I was going to try my hand at planting some cooler weather veggies but I usually hide in my shell once the cool and rainy weather sets in. I don’t know that any would survive without me tending to them.

Not gardening during the Fall also allows me to focus on keeping my daughter on track with her with her online Kindergarten classes. It’s going well so far.

String of Bananas – FOTD Sept. 18

I haven’t been outside as much because of all the smoke from the fires. So I took some pictures of my indoor plants. This is one of my newer additions.

We thankfully got some rain today. I hope and pray that those affected by the fires can find some relief soon. Twenty-twenty has surely been a shit-storm. I’m really looking forward to some holiday cheer. Yes, I’m one of those people. Ha!

Kindergarten Workspace

Our daughter starts Kindergarten tomorrow. Although she is starting school from home we are quite excited for her. Here’s the little workspace we made for her to help create a zone with little distraction. We have just a few more things to add like the month and the day sections and we still need to create some weather cards. We also left space for reminders (Post-it notes).

This board will also help to buffer the noise from her online class. My husband sometimes works from home and our son also has his high school classes online. It’ll be interesting to see how these online classes will work out with everyone home. Keeping an open mind that it’ll all work out and hoping the kids will be able to return to their schools soon.
