Wooden Sunflower -FOTD November 8

Since I haven’t been getting out much to take new pictures, my FOTD for today is this Artsy wooden sunflower colored by our 5 year old. It’s not the usual fresh flower that we normally post but our daughter had a great time coloring it and she insists it smells sweet. The piece was a gift from our neighbor. She said it was purchased at Michaels. 😉

Meyer Lemon – FOTD November 3

We brought in our Meyer Lemon tree a few weeks ago, just before we had our first cold spell. I noticed little round balls forming on the tips of one of the branches. Here’s the first flower.

We just bought the tree in the springtime of this year. From what I read I didn’t think we were suppose to get any fruits this year. I’m really hopeful that we may. That is, if everything goes right. I’m crossing my fingers.

We placed it in one of the sunniest of windows in our house. I’m hoping it’ll receive enough sunlight for the fruits to hold up and grow. We usually have some pretty dark and rainy fall & winter months in Washington State.

A late bloomer. I planted a few seeds later in the season. This one of about 8 plants. There are a few more buds that may not open since we have more rainy and cooler weather heading our way. I’m a little bummed about it but I’ve learned so much about gardening this year that I can’t complain.
