Clear Creek Trail (Photos) – Silverdale, WA

It’s been a few years since we’ve been to any part of the Clear Creek Trail in Silverdale, WA. It’s great system of trails to get some exercise in. There are almost 8 miles of trails. This Saturday we just walked a small portion of it and it was just enough.

The part of the trail we were on was a little newer than the rest of the system. Lot’s of blackberry bushes and scotch broom. I imagine once all the trees are grown it’ll be a much more serene and relaxing place to walk through.

Garter snake in the grass.

We didn’t get to see many birds out but we did see a garter snake in the grass and several dragonflies.

A beautiful dragonfly hanging on to some dead branches.

There were many families on bike rides and a several people out for a walk by themselves and others with their dogs. We also saw a few people blackberry picking. It’s a wonderful place for families and individuals to get out and about. Especially those trying to get out while the weather is still nice.

Petunias and Marigolds – FOTD August 23

Have a blessed day! I love my colorful flowers. It’s a mishmosh of annuals and perennials but I am happy with the colors it produced since Spring. I’m going to miss it all when Summer ends.

I’ve learned a bit more about gardening this year. More so than ever before. I can’t wait to plan for next year.

I love this quote. Although I kind of wish 2020 was a little more on the normal side, this year has really given me some time to reflect, research and work towards an amazing future.

It’s a wet morning here. The skies are slowly clearing up. Rain is great but we’re hoping for a longer summer here in Washington State. We cherish and make most of our sunny, summer days because we know the cold and rainy days of Fall are just around the corner.

Cool Slug Living the Life

Apparently slugs like to keep cool too. This was taken on our hottest day in Washington State so far this summer. He was living the life.

While on our camping trip in Sequim, WA we decided to make a quick trip to the river at the Railroad Bridge Park to cool off before making the trip back home. We were quite surprised to see this slug just hanging out in the water. At first we thought it was a piece of dog poo. While we despise slugs, because they wreak havoc on our garden, we were happy to see it was just a slug. We were wondering if he was finding his lunch or if he was just trying to keep cool. Maybe both.

Have you ever come across strange encounters with slugs?

Rose “Hello Friday” – FOTD August 21

This is a picture that I took on one of our trips to Portland, OR a few years ago. This beautiful rose was at the Washington Park – International Rose Test Garden.

This photo was taken at our last camping trip in Sequim, WA. We camped in our travel camper at the Elks Lodge. We were so excited to see bunnies everywhere when we arrived. They were up early and were so determined to find their food. Some didn’t finish hopping around ’til it got dark. Busy little bodies! It was hard to get a clear shot of them because they move so fast.

White Asters Slowly Blooming – FOTD August 20

Our white asters are finally opening up. Slowly but surely. They are so pretty when they are in full bloom.
