First storm of the season coming through here so I’m using a picture from years ago. This a picture taken on our trip to Hawaii on 2017 at the Dole Plantation in Wahiawa.

I grew a couple of pineapples when I lived the Tampa area year’s ago. It was to teach my kids about the importance of growing your own food. We had grapefruit trees in the yard, but they were mature and it didn’t seem to click. We got 2 pineapples out of the 2 plants. It was a pretty cool experience. π Nice capture! I didn’t go to a pineapple farm when I went to Hawaii in 1984. Missed that on the journey.

Thank you! I grew up in Hawaii but I’ve been away longer than I’ve been there. I vaguely remember my parents growing some in a pot. What a great plant to have in your garden. I would be cool if we could grow them here but it’s too cold and wet βΊοΈ. Plus I don’t know that I’d have enough patience for it to fruit. π

Pineapple isn’t one of my favorite fruits so I probably would never do it again. I wouldn’t mind growing a strawberry plant, but it couldn’t produce enough for me! LOL!
